Want to Book a National Commercial?

This is the year, 2014, I set the intention to book a national Commercial Campaign so I knew I had to step up my game.  I found the guy who has booked over 40 national commercials.

I took one free class with Bill Coelius in January 2014, started applying what he teaches and BOOM, callback, callback and an avail!  Then, I signed up for his class in February and had a blast!  He is the kind of guy you want to invite over for dinner and cook him a plate of pasta with marinara sauce, and listen to his stories.  I learned a ton from him.  He really gets an actor to be present and come from a place of service and have even more FUN in casting rooms.  Bill is awesome and I am looking forward to level 2 with him!  Run to his class, actors!

Why Not Me?

Why not me?

I recently read an inspiring email by Wendy Braun who taught me to look at the Super Bowl game this past Sunday and take away some powerful advice.  You see the, the Seattle Seahawk’s quarterback, Russell Wilson, heard his father tell him, “Why Not You?” and that’s exactly what he told his team all year long, “Why not us?”  It got me thinking about the mantra, “Why not me?”

I am a positive thinker who believes, if it’s possible for anyone it is possible for me, so “Why not me?”  Why not me be the one who thinks big and walks into an opportunity expecting the best?  Why not me be the one who answers the phone everyday expecting great news?  Why not me be the one who books that major series regular role on a primetime series with award winning collaborators this year?  Why not me be traveling first class to Vietnam to visit the little children I sponsor in Vietnam?  Why not me be the one allowing overflowing income from my acting career with ease and grace?  Why not me be the one who is interested in others and being of service?  Why not me be the one who says, 2014 was my best year yet?  Why not me be thinking like a winner, a champion, instead of a survivor?

And, Why not you?  What is it you really DESIRE  and DREAM about?  Close your eyes and imagine.  Why can’t that be you?  Why shouldn’t that be you?  There is no reason.  If it’s possible for anyone, it’s possible for you and it’s possible for me.  What do you say, we do this?

James DuMont, a Great Actor, a Great Friend, a Great Mentor

 

He came up to me recently at a party and introduced himself and said, “we share the same New Orleans agent, Brenda.”  I was honored that an actor of his caliber was giving me advice and telling me, I am on the right path and to keep on keeping the faith.  He suggested I take acting classes with his teacher, Tim Phillips so the next day I signed up with Tim!  You see, This actor is James DuMont.  James plays Jared Leto’s father in “Dallas Buyers Club,” and President Eisenhower’s (Robin Williams) Chief of Staff in “The Butler.”  His performances are memorable because they are so human.  With over 95 major Feature Films and Television Shows and over 20 National Commercial under his belt, James’ career is evolving and he is an inspiration to me, a truly unstoppable actor who sees every audition as an OPPORTUNITY.  This blog post is dedicated to an actor who inspires me, an actor who is receiving the attention he so deserves, and an actor who has taught me to embrace every audition as an opportunity to see “who you get a chance to be.” Check out his recent Backstage Article here, and the interview with him on the Red Carpet from the GoldenGlobes. To all my fans, thank you for your love and support, and please accept my apologies

I want to apologize to all my fans around the world for trying to hide my complete body of work.  For my past two years, I have tried to hide my risqué work to appeal to potential high caliber agents, who may take me on.  By doing so, I felt like I was hiding a piece of myself as if I did something wrong.  I now know for certain, I did nothing wrong.  As an actress, I portrayed characters in major TV shows and films with extreme sexuality.  These characters called for nudity and risqué scenes where no intercourse ever occurred.  I did not do porn.  I did proudly play, Nancy, a porn star, a singing porn star in the comedy, Extreme Movie.  I did play, a dramatic character, a business owner who was blackmailed, who had sexual fantasies of her boyfriend who was celibate.  Yes, those fantasies were acted out by me, as Hannah, in three out of thirteen episodes of Zane’s Sex Chronicles, season one.  There are many other roles for which I am proud of and no, I will not bury my work as an actress.  My heroines are Mae West, Sharon Stone, Angelina Jolie, Halle Barry, and Kate Winslet, who have embraced their sexuality, their sensuality, and female power and used it to portray amazing and memorable characters on the screen for the audience to love.  I want to be me; I want to be Sexy Christina DeRosa.  I can only hope that 100 years from now, my name will come after any of my heroines.
